Students, families face higher college loan interest rates (The Times)
Bossier City resident Andrew Parks doesn't relish the thought of student loan interest rates going up. In December, Congress raised the interest rate on popular Stafford loans to 6.8 percent effective July 1 as part of a $40 billion budget-cutting measure. The rate will be fixed, not adjustable.
